Freedom Writers

I feel that there isn't really a big connection between the Freedom Writers and I. I think it was a good movie and maybe some of the points were true but it seemed as if there was to much violence. I only know one person who was shot and killed and it wasn't because he was in a gang it was because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The freedom writers made it seem like every time they walked out the house they were going to get shot or jumped I've never seen places like that and I don't think they exist. The movie played on violence and the struggle to survive to much and it didn't seem realistic I think the producers where trying to make it more interesting for us to watch. It also seemed like everyone was in a gang, I don't think there are any gangs in Philly, I haven't met any one in a gang.
As for the connection between African Slavery and the Holocaust they have a few similarities. They both singled out one race but for different reasons Europeans wanted people to do what ever they wanted for free, Hitler tried to kill off a whole race because he was racist for whatever reasons. I don't know which one was worst because they were both taken a way from there homes against there wills and tortured but Africans were just whipped and even though thats bad they played mind games during the holocaust like seeing how far bullets would go between bodies , experimenting with different blood types and playing with acid and poison.Even though Africans weren't fed the best foods they did eat because the slave masters wanted them alive to work, the holocaust victims on the other hand had to starve because it was no big deal to the Nazi's if they died because they wanted to get rid of them anyway. Both ordeals were horrible and cruel and I feel sympathy for both the holocaust victims and the African slaves. Watching and reading about both topics depress me to no end ,but I'll watch a movie on the holocaust before a slave narrative because the holocaust happened to a different race of people and it's not that I don't still get depressed hearing about them, it's just slavery happened to my ancestors and hurts more watching people like you go through things like that.

Newton's third law Experiment 7

Objective- For every action there is a reaction.

Hypothesis- I Predict when we we pull back on the sling that the rod will fly forward and the cart will move back.Proving Newtons third law that states for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Materials-
Rod
Rubber band
Halls Cart

Procedure- We attached the rubber band to the halls cart and put the Rod inside the rubber band to make a sling shot.

1. The rod went forward and the cart slid back a little.

2.The Rod and the cart both went back.

3.The Rod went forward and the cart moved back.

Conclusion- The Rod moved Forward almost every time we shot it.I believe the force was an equal force reacting to an equal force. My Hypothesis was correct because the rod flew forward and cart slid back proving my hypothesis and Newton's Third law.

Newton Experiment 6

Objective- Doe it take more force to accelerate in object with greater mass.

Hypothesis- I predict that once you put the string the cart will move and if you put enough on the cart will move so fast it flips over the rod.

Materials-
Washers
Halls Cart
String
Paper Clip
Rod
Tape

Prodcedure-

First we taped the rod to the table

Second We tied the string to the halls cart and the other end to a paper clip

Lastly we added Washers until the cart started to move.

Washers Speed
0 rest
3 rest
6 rest
9 fast
12 really fast

Washers Distance
0 29
1 29
2 27

Conclusion- The Hypothesis was correct it takes to times the washers to move a cart with 200g instead of 100g.
